A statement from Thames Valley Police's Road Policing team said: "The vehicle had been active in another force area and following the stop, stolen property was recovered from a local store."
The arrest comes on the day people across the county went to the polls to vote for the police and crime commissioner (PCC) for the Thames Valley Police force area.
The PCC is tasked with holding officers to account and setting the annual budget for their force among other tasks.
