THE driver of a Mercedes is wanted by police after fleeing from officers and nearly causing a crash.

At about 3.30pm on Saturday, police attempted to stop a grey Mercedes AMG C43 that was blocking Blackthorn Road in Didcot.

The car drove away, along Blackthorn Road, before turning left on to Sir Frank Williams Avenue, where the car overtook a white Golf, nearly causing a crash.

Officers did not continue to pursue the car.

The driver is described as a man in his 20s, with dark hair and a beard.

The car has a partial plate beginning ‘OE68’.

Investigating officer PC Edward Dodd, based at Abingdon police station, said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to please come forward.

“It happened at a time of day in which I believe people will have seen what happened.

“Further, I would ask any motorists who were in the area around this time to check any dash-cam footage in case it has captured anything that could assist with the investigation.
