THAMES Valley Police are appealing for witnesses after four serious incidents across Oxfordshire this week.  

In appeals online, officers have urged anybody witnesses to come forward.

  • Police hunt for two men after anti-semitic graffiti 

Oxford Mail:

Police are hunting for two men after anti-Semitic graffiti was painted on a door in Oxford.

At 10.07pm on January 31, the offenders approached a residential property on Stubbs Avenue, Oxford and sprayed a swastika on the front door.

They later returned at 10.23pm and used a pole to break a CCTV camera installed on the property.

Investigating officer PC Stephanie Greenfield, based at Cowley police station, said: “Criminal damage of this kind will never be tolerated and we are asking anyone who recognises these men to come forward and speak to us.”

  • Call 999 if you see this man

Oxford Mail:

Police have said anybody who spots this man should call 999 immediately.

Owen Maughan, aged 20, is wanted in connection with a number of incidents that occurred in York Road, Headington between 11 March and 12 March this year in which sheds were broken into and items stolen.

He is further wanted in connection with an assault that happened on 8 February 2021 in Pegasus Road.

Maughan is known to frequent the areas of Blackbird Leys, Rose Hill and Littlemore.

  • Teenager attacked at college

Oxford Mail:

A 17-year-old boy was repeatedly punched in the face outside of college in broad daylight. 

Between 5pm and 6pm on March 23, the boy was standing with his friends outside of The Henley College, near Deanfield Avenue, when a group of three teenagers walked past and looked at him. 

They then walked over to him and punched him in the face a number of times before making a getaway through grounds of Henley College.

He was left with a bruised and bloodied nose during the assault.

The first thug is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim muscular build. He was wearing grey tracksuit trousers and a grey Puffa-style coat with his hood up.

The second boy is described as black, 6ft tall and had a stocky, muscular build. He was wearing black tracksuit trousers, a black Puffa-style coat with the hood up and a blue surgical face mask.

The third offender is described as 5ft 10ins tall, slim and was wearing a red top with a hood. His ethnicity is unknown. All of the offenders were aged approximately 18 years old.

  • Woman arrested after crash 

A woman has been arrested for drink-driving after police were called to car crash in Banbury

Oxford Mail:

At around 3.25am on March 28, a grey Ford Fiesta smashed into a traffic island on Southam Road, which is between the Dukes Meadow Drive roundabout and Hardwick Hill. 

The 26-year-old woman has now been released under investigation.
