The first of a motor museum's 2024 car meet events took place earlier this month following the success of last year's gatherings.

The British Motor Museum, based on the Oxfordshire border, most recently hosted a 'Gaydon Gathering' on April 9, from 5pm to 8.30pm.

More than 500 vehicles were showcased in last year's gatherings, including a variety of types, makes, and models.

The free event takes place on the second Tuesday of each month, outside on the museum's arenas.

Pre-booking is obligatory for those wishing to attend, with tickets released a few weeks prior to each gathering.

The show manager at the British Motor Museum, Tom Caren, said: "After a winter of Museum Late events, we can't wait to host our 'Gaydon Gatherings' outside again.

"The events are a firm favourite with petrol-heads and have always proved to be immensely popular."

In addition to allowing motoring enthusiasts to parade their vehicles, each gathering features an 'open garage' session at 6.30pm, where one of the unique vehicles from the museum's collection is unveiled and driven around the site.

Upcoming dates for the gatherings are May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13, September 10, and October 8, with the May tickets on sale now.

Refreshments are offered including burgers and hot and soft drinks.

Visitors who are not displaying their vehicles will find free parking available.

The museum will not be open during the gatherings.
